First round TAD pairings

2) Jason Cannon, Middleburg, Fla., 5.538, 248.20 vs.

3) Michael Gunderson, Middleburg, Fla., 5.606, 263.08 vs.
4) Artie Allen, Jacksonville, Fla., 5.752, 250.62

So, in Top alcohol Dragster # 1 qualifier Guy Kelly got a free run in round one and the winner in the second pairing between #2 Jason Cannon and #5 Don Fiorelli gets a bye in the semi finals to advance right to the final. Lame!

Guy Kelly makes a full run (good on ya) in the first round, 5.532, Cannon defeated Fiorelli, 5.51 - 6.16, and Gunderson got by Artie Allen 6.09 to tire shake. Cannon gets the bye and legs out a great 5.49 to Kelly defeates a tire smoking gunderson with a 5.47. The final was over by half track as Cannon smokes the tires and Kelly goes on for a 5.51 win. Congratulations to the Kelly team.

TOP ALCOHOL FUNNY CAR
1) Jim Sickles, Caledonia, N.Y., '02 Avenger, 5.939 seconds, 242.39 mph
2) Montgomery Todd, Montgomery, Ala., '02 Camaro, 6.209, 227.67
3) Mark Billington, Apopka, Fla., '01 Avenger, 6.242, 232.31
4) John Sullivan, Montgomery, Ala., '03 Firehawk, 14.891, 49.69

First round TAFC pairings
1) Jim Sickles, Caledonia, N.Y., '02 Avenger, 5.939 seconds, 242.39 mph vs.
4) John Sullivan, Montgomery, Ala., '03 Firehawk, 14.891, 49.69

2) Montgomery Todd, Montgomery, Ala., '02 Camaro, 6.209, 227.67 vs.
3) Mark Billington, Apopka, Fla., '01 Avenger, 6.242, 232.31

In Top Alcohol Funny Car, The two winners in the first round go right to the final. Sickle gets the dubious task of racing a 14 second car in the first round. Not to say that any race is a gimme, because John Sullivan may have a 5 second car (he shook in round one and banged the blower on the burnout in the second qualifying shot). The racers there are not to blame for this, but I don't think they should be rewarded for only doing 2/3rds of a job either.

Round one: Sickles defeated Sullivan 5.92 to a 6.55 and Mark Billington defeated Mongomory Todd in a pretty good race, .070rt 6.037 to a losing .063rt 6.055. The Final had Billington take the win when Sickles smoked the tires and shut off.
