Funny Car is here The Top Alcohol Dragster scoreboard is here
Sept. 30, 2004 Two races over the weekend including Columbus Ohio's Lucas Oil Event and Dallas (Ennis) Texas and the O'Reilly Nationals. The scoreboard read one win for both types of car, but the performance level at the national event was about as dominant by the A/Fuelers as a race could get. Only one BAD was in the top ten (David Wells #7) and he lasted until round two. Ashley Force won the race, her second in a row. Ashley defeated Bill Reichert in the final round with a 5.34 to 5.59. This race only saw 4 BADs enter the event, possibly because of the potential for a very quick race and the BAD's did not want to enter a race they felt very little chance of qualifying for. This is not meant to show a bias towards the BADs, I am just speculating on the reasoning behind only 4 of that type of car at what is normally a strong BAD field. 11 were at the race last season and seven qualified. This race is just another for the rule makers to put in their data bank for deciding on any possible changes to the rules for 2005. Consistency has played a big part of the success for the A/Fuelers this year, and they have shown they can run back to back in a variety of different conditions. At Columbus, Canadian Ken Perry got his first win of the year with the "Iceman" BAD over another Candian Scott Murray in the Doucette A/Fuel dragster. Three BAD qualified there out of 20 cars who entered the race. 14 of those entered were BADs. O'Reilly Nationals TAD results
