Division 6 (Race #2) Woodburn Dragstrip TAFC eliminations
Division 4 (Race # 4) Cherokee County Motorsport Park
Point Standings are here:
June 12, 2004 Final Qualifying Woodburn Dragstrip TAFC was stout at the "Burn but not quite the
magnitude of the long skinny cars. 13 cars tried gamely to perform
well enough to play on Sunday, and in the end the bump spot was
a solid 5.989. Brian Hough with the 'Hough Family' Mustang (the
ex-John Knox funny car) held that spot and that lap was his best
in the car. Clint Thompson a terror in the class so far this year
fell just short with a 5.99. Buck Austin is probably giving a big
sigh of relief as Thompson has been a bane in his side so far this
year. Austin's 5.682 is just what Bucky needs to start a roll in
2004 that he badly needs if he is to have any chance of challenging
for the 2004 div and nat crowns. Bret Williamson is right on Bucky's
heels, with a 5.710, and Dennis Taylor sits #3 with a 5.716. Mission
winner John Weaver is #4 with a 5.756 and Calgary Alberta hired
gun Roger Bateman is #5 with a 5.820. Doug Gordon and Hank Coolidge
sit just in front of Hough in the eight spot. 1 2 Bucky Austin, 5.682 251.53 Division 4: Cherokee County Motorsport Park
