The Div. 5 and 3 Summit ET finals were run this past weekend at their host tracks. The winners in Super Pro Pro Sportsman and Bike during the Sunday team race advance to the Pomona World Finals in November. This format is a little different than Div. 6 which sends the ROC winners from Saturday to the finals. Here are the results from both events with the winners shown will represent their div.at the finals.

Division 3 Summit ET Finals from Indianapolis Raceway Park, Clermont IN.

After playing the role of bride's maid last year, the team from National Trail Raceway in Columbus, Ohio, took the honors for the first time in the division's 27-year history of running the Summit Racing Series Finals.

Mac McKnight, Gahanna, Ohio, drove his '67 Camaro to the win in Super Pro and the Pro winner was Russ Briggs of Ionia, Mich., behind the wheel of his '79 Malibu. In Sportsman, Fairfield, Ohio, racer Jeff Seither doubled up as he carried Friday's Race of Champions victory into another win today.

In the Youth Teams classes, the High School winner was Christina Parriman and Junior winners were Travis Alexander in the 13- to 17-year-old class; Ben Rohling in the 10- to 12-year-old class; and Holden English in the 8- and 9-year-old class.

The National Dragster Team Spirit Award went to Chandler Motorsports Park. The team decked out its section of the grandstand in bright yellow wooden Xs, a nod to the track's designation as "Team X." In the stands throughout the weekend, the Chandler Motorsports Park team wore their yellow T-shirts and cheered on team mates, waving yellow pom-poms and shaking plastic jugs that were painted yellow and filled with rocks.

Saturday's events at Clermont, IN.

It was an emotional winner's circle after the completion of the High School category as Kil-Kare Dragway's Christina Parriman celebrated her win over Branden Elam who represented Pacemakers Dragway Park. Parriman's father is in the military serving in Iraq and the back window of her 1970 Nova sported pink shoe polish that read, "I love you dad! Come home soon." Parriman's 15.207-second, 87.38-mph pass was just enough to best Elam's 15.645-second, 84.99-mph effort in his 1989 Firebird. For her win, Parriman was awarded a coveted NHRA "Wally" trophy.

Earlier Saturday, North Central division officials selected a Best Appearing Vehicle in each category. Best Appearing winners also each received an NHRA "Wally" trophy. The favorite in the Super Pro Class was Adam Cline's 1978 Malibu. Cline is running for Beech Bend Raceway. In Pro, the winner was the 1967 Camaro of Tom Blincoe who is racing for Ohio Valley Dragway. Gateway Int'l Raceway Sportsman racer Paul Hagen had his 1972 Nova selected as best appearing and in Super Pro Bike, the honors went to National Trail Raceway's Bruce Sarver who rides a 2000 Kawasaki.
