One of my favorite
bike shots of '08, this photo of '08 Champion Ed Krawiec
captures the intensity of Pro Stock motorcycle racing. Congratulations
Ed! |
| In 2008, World
Champion Angelle Sampey made the change from her U.S. Army
sponsored Suzuki to her new ride, a Rush Racing Products
sponsored '07 Buell |

Andrew Hines
on a solid pass at Sonoma. Andrew fell from second place
in 2007 to 4th in 2008 |

launches his MB Precision sponsored '03 Suzuki |

Hector Arana
shoots down the drag strip on his '07 Lucas Oil sponsored
Buell motorcycle

| Houston based
Craig Treble on a very strong wheels up pass on his very
colorful Team Tigue Suzuki |

Two shots of
'07 Champion Matt Smith on his Nitro Fish sponsored Buell.
The race for the '08 Pro Stock bike championship was very
tight and Matt fell to third position, only 20 points behind
'08 Champ Ed Krawiec |

Chris Rivas
missed the Championship by an even slimmer margin, ending
the season exactly 5 points behind Ed Krawiec. How close
is that? |
| This final
shot was taken by my wife, Dianne from the stands. Karen
Stoffer and Junior Pippin rip down the track in a close
side by side pass. Even at 1/500th of a second, shooting
from this distance can still give your picture lots of background
motion |

A morning pan
shot of a Suzuki GSX shot at 1/400th of a second. The rider
is track champ Kevin Brennan |

I took this
shot of the Wild Racing motorcycle during an early morning
burnout using a shutter speed of 1/250th of a second. "Wild"
Bill McDonald is the rider. |
| As I said,
I am not a regular bike fan, but it is hard not to be impressed
when these Top Fuel Harleys pull up to the line. The first
shot is a backlit photo of the Image Racing Top Fuel Harley
in the waterbox at the IHRA Rocky Mountain Nationals last
July. |

 |
This shot is
of the Image Racing bike again, but this time with the morning
sun lighting up the whole scene. "Wahoo" is right! |
| Brian Hall
hits the 60' beams with the front end up and in the classic
3 point contact position. Check out the treads on his boots. |
 |
 |
Drag racers
of all stripes generally have a great sense of humor and
you often find it where you least expect it. Check out Andy
Beauchemin's helmet and the "This End Up" statement |
| John Breckenridge
glides his ride to a stop at the top end of Edmonton. Check
out how well his bike, leathers and helmet are so perfectly
matched. Terrific paint and color |
 |

When you don't
have parachutes to help you stop, I guess you resort to
anything that will help. Check out the sparks flying off
of Ken Kent's steel soled boots. |
| John Breckenridge
has his hands full as his front end stays way up during
a RMN Nationals pass |
