Pro Street qualifying

53 cars made laps on Friday for the 32 car field in Pro Street. The usual suspects are out front, With Pat Musi leading with a 6.066/235. California Hitter Mike Maggio is #2 with a 6.085 and turbo king Brad Personett is #2 running 10.5's to get a wieght break. He ripped off a record 6.088 at and amazing 250mph. That shatters the old 10.5 record. (but Personett is 250 lbs lighter that Tim Lynch's laps in a 3000lb car. Canadian drivers in the field include Jay Syvertsen running his second quickest lap ever, a solid 6.42/216, Dan Vogt, the 2009 winner is #19 with a 6.46/217. Wayne Hofer, Craig Cawte, Roy Moznik and Dale Pederson are all in the field after two rounds. Washington State drivers in the field include Mark Wolfe running a career best 6.426/225, Yvonne Lucas also a carreer best 6.46/215. Garrett Richards is #28 with a 6.77. BC Driver Trevor Lowe is struggling and is outside the field right now after running a 6.92 best. Frank Tamez is also outside the field turning in a mid seven et in his new Bickle built 69 Yenko Camaro. a NUMBER OF OTHER CANUCKS ARE ALSO OUTSIDE THE FIELD AND THEY INCLUDE Ross Hogenson, Don Wilk, Brett Williamson, Dal Sangha (out for the first itme in his rebuilt Mustang), Scott Blake, Toni Moretto and Steve Horne are also outside the field.

Saturday's weather does not look too promising, but hopefully they get in at least one more lap.

Outlaw 10.5

10.5 looks to be tough as well and Kurtos Tamez leads after two rounds with a 6.63/211. Rick Snavley is #2 with a 6.64. ADRL star Billy Glidden is # 5 with a 6.76. Two time champ Dale Moznik is #10 with a 6.89 best. It is his first race since crashing his El Camino at Mission back in July.

LHP to tune three Pro Street cars at the Street Car Super Nationals event

Buzzards Bay, Ma - Lonnie Houde of LHP Racing will be at the biggest door car event on the West Coast next weekend tuning for three West Coast heavy hitters in the Pro Street class at the 6th annual Street Car Super Nationals event.
Houde will be calling the shots for Rod Burbage who finished 2nd in the 2010 West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association point's standings and was the 2008 and 2009 WCOPMA champion. Burbage has not made the trip to the Street Car Super Nationals since 2007 and since then has made some major changes to his Bunker Race Cars-built 1958 Corvette. Together Houde and Burbage plan for success this year in Vegas after posting some career best numbers earlier this season with a 6.03/243.
Jay Diedrich will also be making the trip with his blacked out 1957 Chevy. Houde began helping Diedrich at the beginning of this season and the results have been positive for both. Diedrich switched his engine combo over last winter and has been posting career best numbers while setting 5 different MPH track records during this 2010 season, the fastest being 249.47. The Firebaugh Express Racing team hopes to lower their 6.11 career best ET and wants to break the 250 MPH mark next weekend.
Lastly Lonnie Houde will be tuning for Dan Myers and his unique 1957 Chevy Cameo Pickup Truck. Myers has struggled this 2010 season with consistency but looks to Vegas to turn his luck around. Dan finished 4th in the 2010 WCOPMA points standings and ran some good numbers qualifying for every event and winning one event. Both Lonnie and Dan look to Vegas to improve the teams' career best numbers as this is the event where Dan has ran the best in the past.

Dan Myers prepares for Pro Street racing at the Street Car Super Nationals VI

San Diego, Ca - Dan Myers Racing will be making the trek to Las Vegas Motor Speedway to compete in the toughest Pro Street class at the 6th annual Street Car Super Nationals. Myers' and his team have competed at the SCSN event the last 2 years. In 2008 Dan made it to the 3rd round of eliminations in the 32-car field and in 2009 he narrowly missed the 6.53 bump spot with a 6.58 best pass.
This year Dan is looking to be running in the 6.25-6.35 range and with engine tuning help from Lonnie Houde and chassis assistance from Bob Bunker Jr. he believes that it is possible. On Thursday Dan will be letting his son, Brandon Myers, make some license passes in the blown alcohol 1957 Chevy Cameo Truck. Then for the rest of the event (Friday-Sunday) Dan says "Dad will show him how it's done!"
On Wednesday before the NHRA World Finals event in Pomona, Dan took his truck to make a couple exhibition passes along with some other local west-coast racers for the NHRA Career Opportunities program. In the stands were close to 1,000 kids and Dan laid down a half track burnout under power finally coming to a stop at the 1000' mark. He backed up and then made an easy pass down the track. Helping Dan that day was his younger son's karate instructor and new sponsor for the 2011 racing season, Hans Hemkes with Ramona Martial Arts.
Dan is excited and looking forward to finishing off the 2010 season with a good performance at the Street Car Super Nationals this upcoming weekend. The 2011 season for Dan Myers Racing is already shaping up to be a good one with the new sponsor from Ramona Martial Arts and continued support from Pacific Repair Services, Red Line Oil, Tom's Differentials and Carolyn's Miniatures.
