Nostalgia Funny Car made their first ever stop at Mission Raceway this year and the 1/2 dozen that made the trek put on an amazing show. Austin made a number of solid laps including what was the world's quickest (at that time) 5.91. Unfortunately he did not make the exclusive 5 second club as he got to the finish line second in the first ever side by side five second race. Mike Savage became the 8th and final member of the "5" second club when he took out Austin in round one. He went to the final round against Capp, but could only watch his clutch dust as Capp blitzed the track to a world 5.85 249 mark to shatter all existing records.
Terry Capp and the super team (including Roland Leong, Ron Hogeson, Gord Jenner, and Capp) stole the show at MRP. If only Austin would have of won his first round match-up, a final round with Capp would have been outstanding....would a could a should a!!!!
