The 604 Street Legal group was formed in 2016 The founding members are Craig Blair ,Darryl Tippe ,Jason Gibson , Jason Graw and Don Murray.

Don Murray explains how the 604 Street Legal group came about.

With the rise in popularity in top ten lists partly from the television show Street outlaws. We wanted to create our own 604 top ten list.

We all realized that the show was flawed and the message they were portraying we didn’t agree with. While they were actually racing on a street, they were in fact acting and the roads were closed off and they did have safety crews etc.

I feel they don’t have a future and what they are doing is going to fail. When someone dies it will be all over. They will either move to the track or stop filming. They are not legit, we are. We don’t portray anything.

I have raced pro street on the west coast since the very beginning and have watched it morph into outlaw promod which is sooo far away from its roots. Pro street racing is extinct on the west coast. Having raced heads up I know that is get costly, very fast and usually the one who spends the most ends up running away with the class. Having experienced it myself and knowing the costs and the current reality of our weather, population and economy, we just don’t have chance to get sponsors to fund that type of racing here on the west coast.

So we decided to go out on our own direction, create a legitimate class for actual street driven cars not promods.

The group races at the track not on the street, hence the name 604 Street legal. While we do recognize the quickest and fastest runs and publish a top ten lis, our competitions are dail-in which gives everyone a far chance to win. Are rules are simple enough and won't be changing. They can be found here https://604toptenlist.com/2017-rules. We are not taking anything away from anybody there is still heads up classes for those who have the need. So now if I get beat its not by someone who spent more then me, its because I got out raced. And its fun giving guys a fair chance..

"Racing at the track is cool, way cooler than racing on the street, and we are going to show how cool it can be" .
