Edmonton, Alberta - April 27, 2015 -

BELL / FISCUS RACING (BFR) put in a valiant effort at the 28th annual O'Reilly Auto Parts NHRA SpringNationals at Royal Purple Raceway, in Baytown, Texas on April 24-26, 2015.

Over a weekend plagued by less-than-ideal weather conditions and rain delays, Bell/Fiscus Racing's Jim Bell and Kevin Fiscus fought hard to put in strong performances.

In the first round of qualifying, Fiscus went 6.046 at 238.60 MPH with his turbocharged, PLR-powered, 2012 Ford Mustang, but slowed towards the top end when a transmission oil leak resulted in his car putting on a smoke show for the crowds. Fiscus significantly improved upon his initial run in round two; his car made a smooth and straight run with a big burst of speed at the half-track mark which resulted in a 5.982 at 246.62 MPH run. In Q3, Fiscus' car was on what would have been the best pass of the Q sessions but the car did not make the 2 /3 shift and slowed to 6.299 at only 189. Bell, however, didn't have much better luck with his turbocharged, PLR 481X-powered, 1969 Chevy Camaro. In his first qualifying attempt, Bell had a good launch but needed to pedal it part way down and lift which resulted in him coasting through the traps in 6.563-seconds at 189.44 MPH. In the second round, Bell's car would not bump in when on the chip and timed out against the tree In his third and final qualifying run of the event, Bell had his quickest and fastest pass of the weekend but his car was way down on power and only rand a 6.140 at 235.10 MPH which wasn't enough to get him in the show. "We faced some seriously stiff competition this weekend in Texas. Our team worked extremely hard, but we came up a bit short," said Bell. "The bump spot for the Top 16 was 5.965, and while Kevin got close with his 5.982 - just 17-thousandths of a second too slow - it simply wasn't our weekend. We gathered a lot of data on both cars, though, and that will definitely help us for the next race. Kevin's Mustang and my Camaro both are quite capable, and we'll be on top of the field soon enough."

Both Bell and Fiscus will be competing in the Pro Boost class at the PDRA Cajun Nationals at Thunder Road Raceway Park in Shreveport, LA on April 30th-May 2nd, 2015 as the Bell/Fiscus Racing team continues their 23-race commitment for the 2015 season.
