here are the first batch of pphoto hightlights from Seattle (by Bill Jeffery copyright speedzonemagazine.com 2003)

Picture top to bottom

Gordie Bonin was the only guy to show some falmes Friday night under the lights. His oil down on this run was the end of qualifying, much to the dismay of the 15,000 spectators.

Bucky Austin pulled in a dominant performance until the final round where he lost to Steve Gasparelli. He ran in the left lane all weekend but it seems to have bit him in the final. He redeemed himself at Sonoma.

Ken Kraus ran his best ever. A 5.78

Scelzi had a very good western swing even though he was in the centre of a contraversary.

Brady Kalivoda would like to forget the Seattle weekend.

Larry Morgan got a runnerup at Seattle. It possibly took off some of the heat he has felt this year.

David Rampy had three wins over the Western Swing. Two in Comp and one in Stock.

WJ got one win a Denver and a semi in Seattle. He lost to son Kurt in round two at Sonoma.

Lucas is probably glad they weren't the title sponsor here at Seattle.

Gasparelli is in the old Pat Austin car after his crash a month ago at the Sonoma Div. race

Force is a 'force' again as he picked up 308 out of a possible 348 points on the swing.

Steve Federlin is getting closer on his tune-up with the new car. He ran a best of 5.39 on the swing.

Mike Cofini is turning into a force on the West coast after a runner-up finish here at Seattle.

David Baca is turning into a strong runner and a great interview as he went to the finals as Sonoma.

Greg Anderson is not showing any sign of slowing down after a win and a runner-up on the swing. His worst result in the three races, was a semi final finish.
