A wierd one here as Doolittle has a great light but
takes almost a tenth of a second too much stripe giving the win to
Division six's toughest player Jody Lang.

(All point totals are unofficial)
After an elimination's day that will go down in Vegas
history as one of the most frustrating and longest (as it was actually
two days), it finally got finished Monday at 9:00pm.
In Comp eliminator Brian Self got a tough fought and
well deserved win over Bo Butner.
Comp Eliminator
5 Brian Self 0.062 7.570 -0.580 def. 33 Bo Butner 0.045 9.085 -0.495
Gary Anderson wins his first Division 6 Comp title
and Jeff Lane finished second. Adam Bowdish ended up third. In Division
7 , Dean Carter not only won the division but defended his world title
as well.
Super Stock
7375 Ken Etter 0.110 10.675 0.005 def. 797 Joe Kohorst 0.067 9.732

No Division 6 competitors went past round three, and
Mark Faul appears to be the Super Stock Champ in the North West Division,
Jody Lang finished second and Sean Cour is third. Gary McGlasson Won
Super Stock in Div. 7. Steve Wann finished second by one point over
Brad Rounds.
Stock Eliminator

In Division 6 no changes to the standings in the top
five. Brad Plourd had a chance but went out in round three against
Toby Lang. The highest finishers from Division 6 were round four by
Jim Devine and Lang (who is claiming Div. 7 this year). Plourd Jody
Lang and Mark Faul all fell in round three. In Division 7, Bernie
Cunningham went to the semis, and has 363 points. Chad Loge moved
into second with the win and Toby Lang got third with a fourth round
finish here
Motorcycle
1 Brian Johnson 0.042 9.128 0.038 def. 704 Craig Treble 0.078 9.020

Johnson won Division 5 title with the win. John Widham
won Division 7 and Mark Kosler is the Division 6 champ by two points

Top Comp
6215 Blu Hyball 0.019 7.470 0.020 def. 4147 Greg Lair 0.022 7.295
0.145
Blu Hyball won Top Comp over Greg Lair and jumped
into second place in the standings. Jeff Devey is the Divisoon 6 champikn
for 2004. In 2005, Division 7 will contest the class at every Division
7 event.
Nov 6, 2004
My mistake, Jeff Devey is not back to back champ
in Top Comp. Hemingway won last year, Sorry Doug! Jeff was r/u last
year. Thanks Dave for the correction.
Qualifying is complete and round one in the
books in a number of classes. In Top Comp, Jeff devey clinched the
division as his colsest rivals, Todd Hoerner and Dave Jackson did
not make the trek, making Devey a back to back champ in the tough
class. Gary Anderson has locked up the division, as his only rival
that had a chance to catch him, Jeff Lane, could not get an engine
in time, as he broke his last weekend.
Congrat's to both teams and drivers.
In Comp, the bump stayed at .581 under (Tom Brown),but
there was some shuffling in the order. First round was run Saturday
afternoon, and five bottom half competitors beat their higher qualified
competitor. Notables were Dean Carter and Steve Wilmoth as early exiters.
Carter has won the championship already.
Here are the first round winners and 2nd round pairings.
Deceglie vs DePalma, Johnson vs Anderson, Chamberlin vs Butner, Stone
vs Yannetti, Stephenson vs Mikel, Treadwell vs Howerton, Schmidt vs
Sigmon, Self vs Barcelon.
In Super Stock....... Holton did take back
the record from Westcott Jr. as he backed up his 8.743 run. The new
record is 8.53.

LV testing on Thursday
Good second session of Top Comp with 32 cars making
hits and many of them at quicker than 7.50. A couple of Top Sportsman
cars (one from D3-Donnie Peden and one from D4-Greg Lair) both made
hits in the 7.20 range. Cowie has a contender from D5 for low qualifier,
didn't catch the name but ran 6.52. Some of the D6 drivers:
Scott Taylor 7.49
Ken Tupper 7.42
Greg Hindman 7.39
Rich Proebstel 7.27
Brian Preszlar 7.12
Jeff Devey 7.62

Sunday final elimination's.............The term just
qualifying for an event has never been more fitting than this year's
version of the AC Delco Nationals in Comp Eliminator. 40+ cars
were on hand and the bump spot for the 32 car field was an unreal
.612 under the factored indexes. Well I know the purists don't count
factored events as a real barometer, it still was an impressive feat
to get into the field. As mentioned on Saturday, three division six
cars made the field and two were left after round one. Round two saw
Jeff Lane not make the call Saturday night and Gary Anderson was left
to battle in round three on Sunday. His race only lasted until he
staged as Anderson left way to early and lost to Brian Self. In the
semis, Self could not catch Glen Treadwell in his 8 second dragster
and Lou Ficco driving an uncommon (in this class, B/AA) but very cool
63 Corvette defeated #2 qualifier Michael Johnson

Super Stock............. Eliminator had just
under a hundred in the field and based on all the scenarios in Super
Stock this weekend, three different drivers could still win the championship.
Larry Stewart took a huge step by winning at Gainesville on Saturday
and took a 35 point lead. Dan Fletcher could only improve at the Vegas
Divisional and Lincoln Morehead had to go deep (final round) into
elimination's at the Vegas National. He did go into the 1/4's but
Stewart's win put him out of the running. Fletcher win now have to
go six rounds at the divisional to win the title.
This weekend at Vegas, Gary McGlasson defeated Tony
DeFrank in a battle that had both driver keyed up. Both went double
"0" on the tree, but DeFrank took too much stripe and went
under by 5/1000 . Sean Cour was the top Division six competitor as
he went to the round of six before losing to McGlasson.

Stock................Jeff Hefler is 83 points back
and had the best (very slim though) chance to catch Lee Zane, but
he did not race this weekend at Vegas My guess is he will race next
weekend and if all goes well, Pomona will be on the schedule. This
weekend Division six and one family ended up to be represented well,
as the two finalist were father and son. The "Flying Waldo's"
or "Where's Waldo" were the two most popular terms on Sunday.
They took on two heavy hitters in the semi finals, Keith Lynch and
Al Corda and both made mincemeat of their opponents as they had plans
for a Sunday dinner on the starting line. The elder statesman of the
family got to carve the turkey (okay hold the Wally), and he had 2/100ths
at the tree and ran closest to his dial for over half a tenth victory.
Brad Plourd went five rounds but went red against Al Corda.

Las Vegas AC Delco Nationals
Unbelievable qualifying in Comp Eliminator as the
32 car field was anchored by a car that ran .612 under the index.
I am not sure but to hve the entire field at .600 under or quicker
is just sick. Div. 6 hitter Jirka Kaplan DID NOT qualify with his
AA/AM. Jeff Lane, Gary Anderson and Dave Barcelon were the only Div.
6 qualifiers. Anderson and Lane both won in the first round.

COMP ELIMINATOR
Doug Lambeck, Northridge, Calif., '04 Sunfire, E/SMA, 16.566 seconds,
59.45 mph def. Vincent Deceglie, Alta Loma, Calif., '63 Corvette,
A/A, broke
I must have jinxed Gary Anderson in Comp eliminator
as he went out in round one, but it was not costly as he still picked
up 30 points. Jeff Lane, his closest competitor got 22 points for
his fourth round finish. He needs to go to Vegas and win and hope
Anderson does not enter or go past round two.
01 Gary Anderson 345 5
02 Jeff Lane 310 6
03 Adam Bowdish 249 6
04 Dave Barcelon 247 8
SUPER STOCK
Mark Faul, Tacoma, Wash., '98 Grand Am, GT/HA, 10.885, 122.63 def.
Rob Youngblood, Nampa, Idaho, '77 Corvette, SS/J, 10.533, 125.76
Mark Faul did what he had to do at Medford, as he
not only won the race, he moved into first place in the divisional
standings. The title is not wrapped up yet, as three or four can still
catch Faul except Jody Lang, as he is out of races.
01 Mark Faul 324 7
02 Jody Lang 320 8
03 Sean Cour 299 6
04 Rob Youngblood 292 6
05 Steve Polack 256 7
STOCK ELIMINATOR
Chad Loge, Pleasanton, Calif., '70 GTX, C/SA, 10.865, 115.33 def.
Mick Alley, Eagle, Idaho, '71 Camaro, F/SA, 11.311, 115.13.
Jody Lang holds onto first place even with a second
round exit. He has run out of races to claim, as has Joe Sorenso who
went five rounds. The only guy that can catch Lang is his Washington
rival Brad Plourd but Brad would have to win at Vegas took overtake
Lang.
01 Jody Lang 363 8
02 Joe Sorensen 353 8
03 Brad Plourd 308 7
04 Mick Alley 288 5
05 David Chun Jr 282 7
SUPER COMP
Matt Hartzell, Atwater, Calif., dragster, 8.902, 156.77 def.
Thomas Bayer, Fontana, Calif., dragster, 8.920, 165.50
Rod Fuller inched closer to Adam Drzayich, as he picked
up 20 points for his third round loss. Adam went out in round two,
and did not pick up any points. Fuller has to go three rounds at Vegas
to improve his point total, the same as Adam. Vegas will probably
be a 115 point race so any in the top 6 have a chance.
01 Adam Drzayich 330 7
02 Rod Fuller 320 7
03 Ty Anderson 308 6
04 Thomas Gresham 276 7
05 Mike Drzayich 275 6
06 Bubba Dalrymple 273 7
SUPER GAS
Chris Newman, Lancaster, Calif., '94 Lumina, 9.901, 161.73 def.
Chris Cannon, Bothell, Wash., '63 Corvette, 9.907, 161.29
Division 6 competitor Chris Cannon had his best result
with his new 63 Corvette with a r/u to Div. 7 competitor Chris Newman.
Jeg's Allstar rep Mike Coltrin moved into 1st place in the standings
with a third round finish, as Wayne Linder did not pick up and points
at this event. Rod Lee also moved in front of Linder as he picked
up 10 points. The race is still wide open as anyone in the top 8 have
a chance as the Vegas race is likely to be a 115 point event.
01 Mike Coltrin 331
02 Rodney Lee 330
03 Wayne Linder Jr 322
04 Chad Barclay 296
05 Ken Heard 287
06 Don Juel 275
07 Dave Kelly 267
08 Rod Fuller 266
SUPER STREET
Mark Yeager, Hollister, Calif., '75 Vega, 10.860, 143.4 def.
Ray Carlson, 100 Mile House, B.C., '92 Trans Am, 10.852, 133.61
Another Div. 7 competitor won the final Super class,
as Mark Yeager won Super Street over BC driver Ray Carlson. Carlson
went .001 red to give the easy victory to Yeager. Jeff Jackson has
such a lead that the title is his. Brett Waldron moved into 2nd form
fourth with his third round finish.
01 Jeff Jackson 386
02 Brett Waldron 297
03 Ron Cross 285
04 John Dalrymple 277
TOP COMP
Ed Hauter, Lynnwood, Wash., dragster, 7.694, 174.41 def.
Blu Hayball, Fort Hall, Idaho, dragster, 7.760, 172.24
A great win by Ed Hauter in Top Comp over Blu Hayball.
This was Ed's first ever win in the class and moved him into the top
10 in the standings. Hayball moved up a couple spots as well.
01 Jeff Devey 342
02 Todd Hoerner 309
03 Blu Hayball 277
04 David Jackson 268
05 Frank Tamez 265
KERKER MOTORCYCLE
Buff Kobs, Coeur d Alene, Idaho, '95 Ninja, 7.793, 163.64 def.
Mark Kosler, Keizer, Ore., '84 Suzuki, 10.138, 113.36
A big change in the standings in Motorcycle with the
win by Buff Kobs. Mark Kosler with a r/u moved into 1st in the standings
and Kobs moved up from 7th to 5th.
01 Mark Kosler 325 5
02 Joe Collette 305 6
03 Scott Pollacheck 293 7
04 Steve Miller 279 7
05 Buff Kobs 241 6
Oct. 9, 2004 Friday qualifying from Medford Oregon..............The
final Division 6 event of the season. Alot is at stake at Medford
as only 2 classes are pretty well wrapped up in Division 6. Super
Street is Jeff Jackson's in 2004 as he holds a 101 point lead over
Ron Cross and in Comp eliminator, Gary Anderson has the lead by 27
over Jeff Lane but he still has this weekend's race to claim, so he
picks up 30 points just for qualifying. If Lane was to win this race
and Anderson goes out in round one he still has a 3 point lead. Jeff
would have to go to Vegas in three weeks and go to at least the semis
(not out of the question), but then all Anderson would have to do
is go a couple rounds. So it is not a done deal, and I hope I don't
jinx him. The Top alcohol story is
here. In Super Stock, Sean Cour sits 9 points bhind Jody Lang
and needs to go a couple rounds further than round two to pick up
any points. This is Lang's last race to pick up points, While Cour
has three more to race where he can improve. Stock is also Lang's
at this point. And really he has all the cards on his side in Stock.
He leads by 43, meaning Joe Sorenson or Brad Plourd need a win bad
and Lang has to go out early. Adam Drzayich leads Super Comp over
Rod Fuller (by 30) and Ty Anderson (53). Wayne Linder Jr. is up by
only two points over Rod Lee and 12 over Mike Coltrin, so this one
will be interesting.
