Brent
Murray ran as quick as 6.50/212 in his dad's TAD. Cal Tebb made three wild laps
in his Alky Flopper on Sunday.
Phil
Ruskowski went over 200 a couple times in his high gear only nitro FED. Winners
in the four sportsman classes were: Don Spencer in Mod, Garth Wright in S/Pro,
Steve Eriksen in Pro. All three drivers were in Mopars. Leyland VanHumbeck (odd
man out in a Ranger) won in street.

It
was along one at Port on Sunday, as a few oil downs and mishaps lengthened the
day, but it was an awesome weekend overall. Well over 7,000 spectators and 300
race cars were at the Valley Airport. It was one of the funnest events I have
attended in along while. Many other towns in the NW could look at the model for
this event and have a great once a year deal. Bill Surry and his team do a fantastic
job. I must make note also of the the event souvenir program. It was as well written
and laid out as any magazine I have seen in recent memory, Darren Willis should
be very proud and deserves a pat on the back, a job well done!

August
3, 2011 STREET, MOD AND PRO
CLASSES ARE FULL! There were a few spots for DoorslammerSuper Pro and Bike/SLed
class. This event usually has close
to 300 race cars and well over 4,000 people a day. Speedzone last covered the
event in 2008 and we really look forward to being there again this year. The
feature class is the Canada West Doorslammers THey have been the main attraction
for the last 8 years and have always put on a great show. Cal Tebb in his GTO
'BAD Goat' Funny Car and Doug Murray's 'Thriller IV' TAD will race side by side.
