Monday March 31, Make sure that you head to this site (Horsepower Heaven) if you want a bunch (and I mean a bunch) of great Street Legal pictures from the huge PCSA event at Vegas two weeks ago. Saturday March 29, 2003 The Job Rite Friday Street Legal program got under way last night at Mission Raceway. Based on the weather forecast, there should not have been any cars under the lights, but 125+ showed up for the first Friday night event of the year, including around 30 5.0 litre Mustangs a number of Camaros and Corvettes. As well, a dozen or so cars in Outlaw street make a number of laps under cool but dry conditions. This year there are plans for three Saturday night events to go along with close to 20 Friday night events. There has been as many as 300 cars for the grudge races, and in excess of 2000 spectators, watching their buddies take on each other in controlled safe conditions. Come on out, and see what all the hype is about.
March 24, 2003 Ed Thornton from Chino Hills dominated with his twin turbo charged Camaro in the Pro Street class at the "Mean Machine Madness" doorslammer event at "The Strip" at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He ran a 6.82 at 210.73 in the single final, and drove it back to the starting line. He also had low et and top speed for the weekend with a 6.80 at 211. 36. Extreeme Street saw Dave Bouman in his 63 Nova defeat John Wilson 8.22 at169 mph ,to a slowing 10.85. In Outlaw Street, Greg Orr made the trek from snow bound Pueblo, Co., pay off, as he defeated Doug Sikara from Barstow, Ca. in a close matchup, 7.77 at 186mph to a losing 7.78 at 177 mph. True Street winner was George Raygoza of Orland, Ca over Len Acosta from Whittier, Ca., 8.82/156 to a slowing 9.46/116 Real Street had Guiseppe (sp?) Gentile from Las Vegas defeat Matt Schmidt from Parris Ca., 8.05/175 to a 8.55/136 Heavy Street winner was Joe Barrt form Colorado Springs over Roger Rydell form Lancaster Ca 8.18/170 to a slowing 13.28 And in Wild Street, Casey Vantol from Orland blasted Dave Eggerling form Barthoud Co., 9.61/147 to a 10.65/148 Here are the rest of the results from Las Vegas courtesy of John Bisci LVMS: PSCA Bracket 1 LVMS Outlaw Eliminator (Saturday) Damian Kozul of San Mateo won Saturday night's burnout contest ($250).
March 22, 2003 The PCSA makes its debut this weekend at Las Vegas Motorspeedway, in what is billed as "Mean Machine Super Show". Pro Street, Outlaw Street, Real Street, Extreeme Street, True Street, Hot Street, Heavy Street, Limited Street, Wild Street, Open Comp, and Bracket 1 (what a mouthfull) are to be contested. Pro Street has $1500 to win and both Outlaw and Real Street have $1000 to win.
Pro Street Wars heat up in the North West!
This class could have its most exciting season ever. Record holder Brian Lane and his '55 is said to be lighter and faster for this year, Don Murray has shed a bunch more weight as he aims for the 6's (sorry for the typo earlier, email me if you see a typo dudes). Glen Braid will have Canso part "deux" sans 1000lbs, Bill Hitchcock will be out this year with his hemi powered Pro Mod style Duster shown below, Ron Crookshank has shed a bunch of weight and added more nitrous as he aims for the 7's, Roy Moznik's plans have not been revealed for 2003 but, based on everyone else's changes, I'm sure he will follow suit. Another new ride for this year is a '58 corvette owned by Glen Norman. The brand new body just came out of Ken Lowe's Token Fiberglass shop in Mission and the car will probably run in both Pro Street and Doorslammer. The two Mustangs that battled last year for the "race"to the sevens, Dal Sangha and Rash (spelling?) Dhaliwal, are making a bunch of changes as well. Rash had his car in Pro Gas Engineering getting work done and Dal's car has gone through a complete re-tranformation as well. More power, the chassis completely redone, bigger tires in his quest to go deep into the sevens or possibly even the sixes with the Mustang.

As well as the SL associations's out there, the local kids looking
for a place to race legally have come to the race tracks in droves.
On any given Friday night there are 200+ participants in everything
from Honda Civics to '69 Camaros, and everything in between. As well,
2000+ spectators (mostly friends of the racers) are on hand to watch
their buddy/boyfriend/girlfriend take on their buddy. No doubt, there
is wagering going on as well. With that facet of racing growing and
growing, the Pro Street wars are also taking off locally. While no
North West Street Car has run in the sixes yet, (two came close last
year Brian Lane 7.18 and Don Murray 7.23) there could be as many as
six breaking into the sixes before the season hits the summer. Glen Braid has dropped 1000lbs. with his new ride, the twin to his
